Pakistani television host and actress Nadia Khan has revealed interesting details about the early days of her showbiz career and how she entered acting.
Speaking on PTV's programme “Star & Style,” Nadia Khan recalled that renowned playwright Haseena Moin selected her for an acting role at a time when she did not consider herself beautiful.
Nadia said that during her college years, her classmates did not think she was suitable for a heroine's role. According to her, they felt she was neither fair-skinned nor delicate-looking enough to play a leading female character.
Despite those perceptions, Nadia went on to establish herself as a successful actress and television host. Available biographical records identify “Pal Do Pal,” written by Haseena Moin, as her acting debut in 1996, with Adnan Siddiqui among the cast.
Nadia recalled that she was extremely young when she began acting with Adnan Siddiqui. Her first shoot took place outside the city, and being away from home made her anxious and homesick. She eventually began crying.
She recalled that the producer tried to calm her down by promising that she would receive ice cream every 30 minutes if she stopped crying, followed by juice.
Nadia also said that Adnan Siddiqui was surprised by her young age at the time and remarked that she was very young and did not even behave like a typical heroine.
Nadia Khan is widely listed as having been born on May 22, 1979. Based on the reported 1996 acting debut, she would have been approximately 16 to 17 years old when she entered acting.
