Pakistani actress Hira Khan has reacted to actress Saba Faisal’s recent remarks about divorce, saying that it is better for parents to bow their heads than to carry their children’s coffins.
In an Instagram story responding to Saba Faisal’s comments, Hira said she had made the same point before and repeated that Saba Faisal needs help.
Actress Zoya Nasir also reacted to the controversy on social media, saying she had a lot to say about the matter and describing the narrative as dangerous and complicated.
The reactions came after Saba Faisal discussed changing social attitudes toward divorce in a video.
Speaking about the past, Saba Faisal said divorce was once considered an extremely painful event for an entire family, with families spending a long time questioning what had gone wrong. She also recalled that fathers once felt deeply embarrassed when their daughters’ marriages ended and found it difficult to face people.
