During a recent interview, Salma Agha was asked about her Pakistani citizenship and her work in India. She said that her family had moved to the United Kingdom and that she is a British citizen.
According to the actress, her stay and professional work in Pakistan were connected to her career in the Pakistani film industry, which she described as a positive experience.
Salma Agha also explained her status in India. She said she was issued an Indian card in 2017, which allows her to reside in India and access certain facilities.
She said the card was issued through her maternal grandmother, who was originally from Amritsar, India. The actress also stated that she holds a British passport.
Following her remarks, some social media users questioned her citizenship and family background, while others referred to her long association with the Pakistani film industry.
Salma Agha worked in several Pakistani films during her career before also establishing herself in the Indian film industry.
