The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal will begin entering the country's upper and central regions from July 29, bringing a fresh spell of monsoon rainfall to Karachi starting July 31.
According to the PMD, intermittent rain is expected in Karachi from July 31 to August 2, accompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms, and the possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas.
The weather system is also expected to affect several districts across Sindh, including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Sanghar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Karachi, Matiari, Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, and Thatta, where thunderstorms and rain are forecast.
The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy downpours at isolated locations could trigger urban flooding in low-lying areas, advising residents to stay updated with weather advisories and take necessary precautions.
