Pakistan's hydrological authorities have issued a fresh situation report warning of rising river flows and the possibility of flash flooding in several parts of the country over the next 24 hours.
According to the latest Hydrological Situation Report, low flood conditions are currently being observed in the Indus River at Kalabagh, Chashma, and Guddu, as well as Nullah Palkhu at Wazirabad and Nullah Basanter at Narowal.
Meanwhile, the Ravi, Chenab, Jhelum, Kabul, and Sutlej rivers are flowing within normal limits at all monitored control points. Hill torrents in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur, along with Nullah Lai, also remain within normal levels.
The report forecasts a significant increase in river flows between August 4 and 5. Low flood conditions are expected at Tarbela, Taunsa, Sukkur, and Guddu on the Indus River, Marala on the Chenab River, Balloki on the Ravi River, and in the Jhelum River and its tributaries upstream of Mangla Dam.
Authorities have also warned of possible flash flooding in streams, nullahs, and hill torrents across several regions, including Haripur and Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bagh and Haveli in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Hunza, Shigar, Gupis-Yasin, and Ghanche in Gilgit-Baltistan, and Zhob, Musakhel, and Sherani in northern Balochistan.
Officials have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain vigilant, follow official advisories, and take necessary precautionary measures as water levels are expected to rise in the coming days.
