Hira Khursheed, a BS Computer Science student at COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, has brought international recognition to Pakistan by securing second position in the Computing Track at the Huawei ICT Competition 2025–26 Global Finals held in Shenzhen, China.

The global competition attracted more than 220,000 students from over 100 countries, with Hira Khursheed delivering an outstanding performance to finish among the top competitors worldwide.

Hira is currently in the sixth semester of the BS Computer Science programme at COMSATS University Abbottabad. Representing Pakistan, she competed against some of the world’s strongest young talent in information technology and computing.

Her achievement is being celebrated as a major milestone for Hira, her teachers, COMSATS University Abbottabad and Pakistan. The success also highlights the growing capabilities of Pakistani students in advanced computing, information technology and emerging technological fields.

Speaking to the media, COMSATS University Abbottabad Media Coordinator Sardar Naseer said Hira’s international achievement was a source of pride for the university and Pakistan. He said her success sends an encouraging message to young Pakistanis that dedication, knowledge and expertise in modern technology can enable them to compete and succeed on the global stage.
