Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, in her message on International Youth Day, said Pakistan’s youth are the country’s most valuable asset and a key force behind its economic future.
She said the government was working to empower young Pakistanis with the digital skills needed to compete in the rapidly changing global economy.
According to the minister, new opportunities are being created in the IT sector, while young people are also being provided training in digital skills and freelancing.
Shaza Fatima said artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and software development are among the areas being prioritised for youth participation. She also highlighted access to smartphones, internet connectivity and digital skills as important tools for preparing young people for the future.
She said IT parks and digital hubs could create new opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and technology-based businesses.
The minister further said Pakistani youth can become active partners in the country’s digital transformation and stressed the importance of developing skills that match future employment opportunities. The government has also been pursuing training initiatives in AI, cybersecurity, coding and other emerging technologies.
