Investigators probing the death of Mir Raza have made a significant development by obtaining the mobile SIM registered in his name.

According to sources, the SIM was reissued in the name of Mir Raza’s mother after the completion of biometric and required documentation procedures. Investigators are now attempting to access the WhatsApp account and recover backup data that could help establish his final communications.

Police have also recovered some WhatsApp messages sent by Mir Raza to close friends, in which he reportedly discussed his financial and domestic difficulties.

Statements have been recorded from a security guard near the scene as well as the imam, muezzin and members of a nearby mosque committee.

Investigators have also prepared a detailed timeline covering the final 12 hours before Mir Raza’s death. According to police, he remained in contact with several people while seeking investment opportunities and a loan.

Mir Raza reportedly went missing from the Ferozabad area on July 28, and his body was recovered the following day near a guesthouse in Gulistan-e-Johar. A second post-mortem later found signs of injuries and alleged physical violence, changing the direction of the investigation.

Investigators say key evidence and the weapon allegedly used in the incident have yet to be recovered. Determining whether evidence was lost and identifying those potentially involved remain major challenges for the investigation.
