Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is completely healthy and continues to provide guidance to Iran’s leadership.
In an interview with Fox News, Pezeshkian said he had met Khamenei in person about a month earlier and spent several hours with him. Asked about the Supreme Leader’s health and ability to govern, Pezeshkian said he was “completely” healthy and giving directions.
Pezeshkian also said Iran does not seek war with the United States and remains willing to pursue a negotiated agreement. He added that Iran would defend itself if attacked.
On the nuclear issue, Pezeshkian said Iran does not seek nuclear weapons and is prepared to act within the framework of international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
