Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations, regional peace, and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
According to Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the longstanding, close, and brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
The two foreign ministers agreed to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, regional connectivity, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people contacts, emphasizing the need to accelerate practical collaboration in these areas.
The meeting also underscored the importance of maintaining regular high-level engagements to further strengthen the bilateral partnership and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The Tajik foreign minister reaffirmed his country's support for Pakistan's efforts to promote regional peace and stability, while expressing support for Pakistan's continued role in pursuing peaceful solutions to regional challenges.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments and stressed the importance of close cooperation through multilateral platforms, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, to promote peace, stability, and shared prosperity.
