Islamabad: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, announced that Pakistan's security forces conducted a total of 40,348 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) over the past five years as part of the country's counterterrorism efforts, resulting in the elimination of 2,084 terrorists.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the DG ISPR said the purpose of the briefing was to update the public on the country's security situation and ongoing counterterrorism measures.
He revealed that 31,080 operations were carried out in Balochistan, while 7,177 operations took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting that these regions remained the primary focus of counterterrorism efforts.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry reaffirmed that Pakistan's security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and will continue intelligence-driven operations to ensure national peace and security.
