British newspaper The Daily Mail has reported that photographs, magazines and other suspicious material were found in a warehouse in Rosarito, Mexico, rented under the name of Thomas Markle, the father of American actress Meghan Markle.
According to the report, Thomas Markle rented the warehouse in 2017 and had allegedly not paid rent for the past two years. Journalists who accessed the property reportedly found photographic negatives, around 50 video tapes, a computer, books and material relating to hard-drive data-erasure software.
The newspaper said some photographs appeared to depict underage girls. One photograph reportedly showed Thomas Markle with a girl. However, the contents of the video tapes have not been verified, and the available report does not establish the circumstances surrounding every item found.
The Daily Mail said it had informed the US Federal Bureau of Investigation about its findings. The report also referred to an investigation into allegations involving the possession of child sexual abuse material.
Meanwhile, a close friend of Meghan Markle reportedly told People magazine that the allegations against her father had caused her significant emotional distress. According to the friend, the situation was particularly painful because Meghan has young children of her own.
The information provided does not establish that the allegations have been proven in court. The reported findings and allegations should therefore be distinguished from verified legal conclusions.
