Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has sought a comprehensive report on fire safety arrangements at all government hospitals across the province.

The chief minister directed authorities to review emergency exits and ensure proper access for rescue teams in case of a fire or other emergency. Officials have also been instructed to inspect emergency evacuation routes in consultation with rescue services.

Maryam Nawaz ordered that fire hydrant work at hospitals be completed within seven days. Fire hydrants will also be established around major government hospitals across Punjab.

According to the Housing Department spokesperson, a list of 57 government hospitals has been prepared in the first phase. WASA has been tasked with identifying suitable locations and installing the required fire hydrants.
