ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which the two sides discussed the latest regional situation.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Dar stressed the importance of maintaining uninterrupted energy supplies amid the regional situation. He also emphasised the need for safe and efficient movement of ships for developing countries and global supply chains.
Dar said that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path towards peace and stability in the region.
The two foreign ministers also agreed to maintain close cooperation between Pakistan and Iran. According to the Foreign Office, Dar and Araghchi are expected to meet in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
