Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has paid the expenses incurred for the use of the Punjab government’s official aircraft during her recent trip to the United Kingdom. According to a report by Jang, Rs27,194,004 has been paid to the Punjab government.
The issue had attracted attention after Maryam Nawaz travelled to London for her daughter’s graduation ceremony and used the provincial government aircraft for the trip. The Punjab government had previously maintained that the chief minister would bear the expenses of the private visit herself.
According to the latest report, Geo TV obtained a copy of the payment cheque. Different figures had previously been reported regarding the aircraft expenses, while the latest reported amount stands at Rs27.19 million.
