Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has strongly reacted to Indian media attempts to link Pakistan with terrorism, saying India started a war based on a lie and lost miserably.
Bilawal made the remarks while reacting to an interview given by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to Indian television channel NDTV.
During the interview, Ibrahim was asked whether he considered Israel’s actions against Hamas terrorism and whether, by the same standard, Pakistan’s alleged actions against India and the Pahalgam attack should also be described as terrorism.
The Malaysian premier said the matter would first have to be established, adding that his intelligence agencies had not provided him with information confirming state-sponsored terrorism by Pakistan.
Reacting to the interview, Bilawal said the Malaysian prime minister had exposed what he described as Indian propaganda while appearing on Indian television.
He said India was now “exposed internationally” and called on New Delhi to honour its commitments made at the time of the ceasefire.
Bilawal also urged Pakistan and India to discuss all points of friction and work together for peace, prosperity and stability in the region.
The remarks come against the backdrop of the four-day Pakistan-India conflict in May 2025, which followed the Pahalgam attack. India linked the attack to Pakistan, while Islamabad denied responsibility and called for a neutral investigation.
