The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested two suspects in Abbottabad for allegedly posing as bank officers and obtaining information from citizens.

According to NCCIA officials, the suspects allegedly impersonated bank officials to collect sensitive information from citizens. Authorities said the suspects withdrew Rs338,000 from a citizen’s bank accounts.

Officials further stated that the suspects allegedly used the money to purchase mobile phones, which were later sold. The two arrested suspects reportedly belong to Sargodha and Islamabad.

The NCCIA has launched further investigation into the case, while other aspects of the alleged fraud are also being examined.
