The judicial commission investigating the Mir Raza murder case has recorded statements from his family members, a nursery employee and Dr. Usama, who conducted the first post-mortem examination.
Dr. Usama told the commission that there were no burn marks on Mir Raza’s body during the initial examination. He said there was a change in the body’s colour, while no obvious fracture was found.
During questioning, the commission also raised concerns over differences between the initial and final post-mortem reports. Dr. Usama explained that the final report was prepared after the exhumation in light of chemical examination reports.
Mir Raza’s mother told the commission that the family learned about his disappearance through his friend and fiancée and subsequently searched for him on their own. She said that when they showed Mir Raza’s photograph at a guest house, people inside reportedly fled, while they were later informed that several individuals had escaped by jumping over a rear wall.
His father alleged that the Ferozabad police initially refused to immediately register an FIR, suggesting that Mir Raza may have left after becoming upset. The family later examined CCTV footage and reportedly found footage showing Mir Raza getting into a vehicle.
A nursery employee also appeared before the commission and stated that police recorded his statement three days after the incident. He said he had not heard the sound of gunfire.
The judicial commission is examining the post-mortem reports, CCTV footage and other evidence as it continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza’s death.
