US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen further, with a recent Marquette Law School poll showing that 37% of Americans approve of his job performance, while 63% disapprove. The approval rating stood at 40% in July.
The poll shows particularly low approval of Trump’s handling of the economy, inflation, gas prices and the war with Iran. Only 26% approved of his handling of the Iran war, while approval on gas prices stood at 20%.
A separate Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted earlier in September put Trump’s approval even lower at 32%, indicating that recent national surveys are showing weakened public approval, although the exact figure varies by poll and methodology.
Meanwhile, the Iran conflict remains a major issue. The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump rejected Iran’s proposed seven-day ceasefire and told aides that renewed strikes could take place after the November midterm elections.
