Israel has once again warned Iran that it could launch further attacks if Tehran resumes its nuclear programme or continues developing ballistic missiles.
According to Arab media reports, Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen said in a recent interview with Israeli media that Israel would not hesitate to strike Iran again even if Tehran reaches an agreement with the United States.
Cohen said that if Iran repeats what he described as the “mistake” of restarting its nuclear programme, it could once again become a target for Israeli military action.
The Israeli minister also claimed that Iran would have already obtained nuclear weapons had Israel not launched its previous attacks.
According to Cohen, joint attacks by the United States and Israel have pushed Iran’s nuclear programme back by two to four years.
The latest remarks are likely to fuel concerns over continued tensions between Israel and Iran, particularly as Tehran’s nuclear programme and ballistic missile capabilities remain major points of international concern.
