Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran prefers negotiations and diplomacy over war and military confrontation to protect its rights and resolve disputes.
According to media reports, Pezeshkian said Iran would not surrender to pressure or force, but at the same time, it did not want to close the door to dialogue.
The Iranian president said Tehran does not seek war and believes that differences should be addressed through negotiations. However, he stressed that meaningful talks are only possible when they are free from threats, pressure and one-sided demands.
Pezeshkian also made clear that Iran would not compromise on its national rights and sovereignty and would continue to defend its position.
The statement comes amid continued tensions between Iran and the United States, with efforts to address the conflict and issues surrounding the Strait of Hormuz remaining under international scrutiny.
