The investigation into the murder of Hina Javed in Rawalpindi’s Lal Kurti area has taken a new turn after arrested suspect Zeeshan reportedly gave three different statements to police.

According to police sources, Zeeshan initially claimed that Hina Javed’s husband, Faisal Asghar, had planned the murder and was responsible for killing her.

In his second statement, however, Zeeshan allegedly claimed that he had killed Hina Javed alone and concealed her body in the bathroom.

After physical remand, the suspect reportedly gave a third account, claiming that Hina had an argument with her husband, Faisal Asghar, during which she was allegedly assaulted. According to this version, Hina tried to escape, after which Faisal called Zeeshan for help and the two allegedly killed her.

Police sources said Zeeshan lived on the same floor as the victim and was also suspected of stealing from Hina Javed’s purse. Investigators are examining the possibility that Hina may have seen him while he was allegedly stealing, potentially providing a motive for the killing.

Police are also examining whether more than one person may have been involved. According to sources, the circumstances involving Hina’s hands being tied, her being strangled and the body being secured to a shower fixture have raised questions about whether the crime could have been carried out by a single person.

Police are investigating all possible angles and are attempting to establish which, if any, of the suspect’s statements is consistent with the available evidence.
