Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has said that time has proved that political tactics cannot eliminate anyone from politics, adding that his party is also not in favour of politically sidelining anyone.
Speaking to the media at Parliament House in Islamabad, Barrister Gohar said that politics had its place, but the country and democracy were more important. He said that implementation of court orders would help create a way forward.
He also said that PTI would never politicise Imran Khan's health and that medical reports would not be used for personal or political purposes. According to him, Imran Khan's health remains the most important issue.
Barrister Gohar also called for the health-related concerns of Bushra Bibi to be addressed, saying she should be shifted to a hospital and provided with appropriate medical facilities.
The PTI chairman said implementation of court orders could help reduce the country's political temperature. He urged the government to move towards dialogue instead of taking shortcuts and said political differences should be addressed through negotiations.
He further called for restraint in political statements that could increase tensions, saying that if the country was to move forward, the process should begin with implementation of the court order.
Speaking about security institutions, Barrister Gohar said the safety of the army, police and Rangers should be a top priority for every Pakistani. He said his party did not want security institutions to be exposed to any threat and stressed that there could be no compromise on terrorism, which he said was condemnable wherever it occurred.
