Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has arrived in China on a four-day official visit, where she received a warm welcome from senior Chinese officials and diplomatic representatives at Urumqi International Airport.
The chief minister will begin her official engagements on the first day of the visit at the Kunlun Hall conference centre of the Xinjiang State Guest House. Four important meetings and engagements have been scheduled for the day.
Maryam Nawaz is scheduled to meet a high-level delegation led by Chen Xiaojian, Party Secretary of Xinjiang. She will also hold a meeting with He Zhongyu, Deputy Party Secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Committee.
The Punjab chief minister will further hold an important meeting with a delegation of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC), focusing on areas of cooperation and strengthening ties between Punjab and Xinjiang.
A dinner will also be hosted in honour of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the Punjab delegation by He Zhongyu, Deputy Party Secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Committee, Party Secretary and Political Commissar.
During her visit, Maryam Nawaz will stay at the Xinjiang State Guest House as an official guest of China.
