US Vice President JD Vance has said that the United States is prepared to use every available tool—including military, economic, and diplomatic measures—to deal with its ongoing dispute with Iran, stressing that Washington's top priority is to ensure Tehran never acquires a nuclear weapon.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Vance described negotiations with Iran as challenging, saying the country's political system is divided into different factions with differing views on the conflict.
According to the Vice President, one faction appears interested in ending tensions, while another favors continuing a confrontational approach. He said the United States would pursue the strategy that best protects its national interests while seeking the most effective outcome.
Vance expressed hope that a diplomatic solution could eventually be reached but acknowledged that the process would be difficult and could take time.
He also noted that successful negotiations could help reduce global oil prices, providing relief to the international economy.
Reaffirming Washington's position, Vance said the United States would not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons and would employ all available instruments of national power—including military strength, economic pressure, and diplomacy—to prevent that outcome.
His remarks come at a time when tensions between the United States and Iran remain high, even as reports suggest that indirect diplomatic contacts and the possibility of future negotiations continue.
