Peshawar: A large number of women participated in a protest organized by the Jamaat-e-Islami Women's Wing in Peshawar against the petroleum levy, rising fuel prices, and prolonged electricity load shedding.
The protesters expressed concern over the increasing cost of living, higher petroleum prices, and the ongoing energy crisis, urging the government to provide immediate relief and reduce the financial burden on ordinary citizens.
Addressing the gathering, Abdul Wasey, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami KP Central, and Bahrullah Khan Advocate, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Peshawar, called on the government to review the petroleum levy, control inflation, and introduce effective measures to support the public.
Jamaat-e-Islami leaders Maulana Hanifullah, Hamdullah Jan, and Sirajuddin Qureshi were also present at the demonstration, where participants raised slogans against inflation, rising fuel prices, and persistent load shedding.
