Beginning his professional journey as a Professor of English Literature and Applied Linguistics, Prof. Jehan Zeb steadily rose through the ranks as Head of Department, Vice Principal, Principal, and since October 2024, Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mardan. At every stage of his career, he has remained committed to one central philosophy—building strong institutions through transparency, innovation, and effective leadership.

Transforming The Fazlehaq College Mardan

During his tenure as Principal of The Fazlehaq College Mardan, Prof. Jehan Zeb introduced several landmark initiatives that reshaped the institution. These included the establishment of the Cambridge School System, the launch of A-Level programmes, the upgradation of the Girls School, the creation of a Quality Assurance Cell (QAC), and the implementation of a comprehensive Digital School Management System.

His leadership also focused on institutional development beyond academics. Nearly 110 employees were promoted or upgraded, financial management was strengthened, strategic partnerships were established through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and large-scale plantation campaigns were launched, helping modernize the institution while improving its administrative and academic standards.

A New Era of Transparency at BISE Mardan

After assuming office as Chairman of BISE Mardan, Prof. Jehan Zeb shifted his focus toward strengthening the credibility and transparency of the examination system.

Under his leadership, the Board established a modern ICT Control Room, enhanced CCTV surveillance at examination centres, adopted a zero-tolerance policy against cheating, and strengthened monitoring mechanisms to ensure fair and transparent examinations.

These reforms reflected his belief that public confidence in the examination system can only be achieved through merit, accountability, and effective governance.

Driving Digital Transformation

Recognizing the growing importance of technology in education, Prof. Jehan Zeb accelerated the Board's digital transformation initiatives.

The signing of an agreement with IBCC for online certificate verification, the modernization of digital record management, improved online services, and support for future initiatives such as digital paper banks, e-marking, and AI-assisted examination systems demonstrate his vision of creating an education system aligned with international standards while improving efficiency and transparency.

Putting People First

One of the defining features of Prof. Jehan Zeb's leadership has been his commitment to employee welfare.

Efforts to address long-pending service matters, facilitate promotions and upgradations, and improve the overall working environment significantly boosted staff morale. Recently, employees of BISE Mardan welcomed him with flowers upon his return from an official Board meeting, expressing their appreciation for his leadership and the positive changes introduced during his tenure.

Many within the institution viewed the gesture not merely as a ceremonial welcome, but as recognition of an administrator who listens to his employees and values them as an integral part of institutional success.

Education and Environmental Stewardship

Beyond academic reforms, Prof. Jehan Zeb has consistently promoted environmental sustainability.

Believing that educational institutions should also cultivate social responsibility, he has led large-scale plantation campaigns, resulting in the planting of hundreds of thousands of trees across The Fazlehaq College Mardan, BISE Mardan, the Board Sports Complex, and other educational institutions.

Under his leadership, tree plantation became more than an annual activity—it evolved into part of the institutional culture, encouraging students and staff to contribute towards a greener and healthier Pakistan. Colleagues describe him as a strong advocate of the "Green Pakistan" vision who has consistently prioritized environmental conservation wherever he has served.

With more than 23 years of experience in higher education, teacher training, institutional reforms, digital transformation, examination governance, and academic leadership, Prof. Jehan Zeb has built a reputation that extends well beyond the titles he has held.

Today, education circles recognize him not simply as a Chairman or a Principal, but as an academic administrator who has consistently worked to strengthen institutions, modernize systems, and earn the trust of both employees and the wider public.
