KARACHI: The Sindh Cabinet has decided to make public the judicial commission report concerning the murder of Karachi resident Mir Raza Ali Khan. The report was presented during a cabinet meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and is scheduled to be published on the Sindh Home Department’s website.

According to the official spokesperson, the report was presented to the cabinet in seven separate envelopes. A subcommittee comprising Zia Lanjar, Nasir Shah, Saeed Ghani and the Advocate General has also been formed to oversee steps related to the report’s implementation.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed that a copy of the report be provided to the victim’s family.

Mir Raza Ali Khan, a young man from Karachi, went missing on July 28 after leaving home in the Pakistan Employees Housing Society (PECHS) area. According to the details reported, he departed at 4:09 a.m. in an online taxi. His body was recovered two days later from Gulistan-e-Johar.

Police officials said the body was found in a severely damaged condition, with a gunshot wound to the chest. The report also stated that all of his social media accounts had been deactivated a day before his body was found.

The victim’s father said Mir Raza was due to marry on August 30 at Bait-ul-Mukarram Mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and had been looking forward to beginning a new chapter in his life.

With the Sindh Cabinet’s decision, attention now turns to the publication of the judicial commission report, the findings it contains and the steps authorities may take to implement its recommendations. Further conclusions will depend on the report’s contents and subsequent official action.
