Pakistan's Federal Cabinet has approved the country's first four-year Hajj Policy and Plan (2027–2030), introducing a fully digital Hajj management system aimed at improving long-term planning and services for pilgrims.
Chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the cabinet meeting approved measures to digitize every stage of the Hajj process, including registration, payments, complaint handling, and monitoring.
Under the new policy, intending pilgrims will no longer need to register annually. Instead, they will be able to register in advance for any Hajj season up to 2030, allowing authorities to maintain a priority waiting list.
The policy also includes a Shariah-compliant Hajj savings scheme, long and short Hajj packages, pilgrim training, Takaful coverage, and emergency response mechanisms. The cabinet further directed that Hajj assistants be appointed strictly on merit and that both public and private Hajj operations undergo independent third-party validation.
