A formal complaint has been submitted to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) alleging possible tax evasion, financial irregularities and concealment of income involving family members and close associates of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The complaint names Senator Kamran Murtaza, Lutaf-ur-Rehman, Zia-ur-Rehman, Asad Mahmood and Abrar Ahmed Khan, seeking an investigation into their assets, bank accounts, business activities and sources of income.
The complainant has requested a comparison of their declared assets and tax returns with their bank transactions. The application also seeks scrutiny of Abrar Ahmed Khan's travel and tours business and financial dealings linked to various welfare, educational and commercial organisations.
The complaint asks the FBR to conduct an impartial investigation into the alleged undeclared income and suspicious transactions, and to take legal action if any violation of tax laws is established. The allegations have not been established through the complaint itself.
