Youth Are Our Asset, Sports Are the Key to Projecting KP’s Soft Image, Governor KP
Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has said that hardworking and innovative youth are the true asset of the province, and it is the collective responsibility of all sectors of society to recognize their potential.
Speaking as the chief guest at the launch ceremony of the Land Rover Defender 6×6 in DHA Peshawar, organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Motor Association, Governor Kundi praised Babur Khan Yousafzai for his innovation in motorsports. Secretary Brigadier Hanifullah and other officials were also present.
He emphasized that sports and recreational activities are essential to promote KP’s soft image globally. “Half of the national cricket team comes from KP, yet no first-class cricket match has been held here in the last 13 years. This is unfortunate,” he said, adding that several organizations are willing to host cricket tournaments if proper grounds are provided.
The Governor also announced the first-ever Governor KP Sports Awards on July 26 at the Governor House in Peshawar, followed by the launch of an “Adopt a Player” campaign.
Babur Khan Yousafzai appreciated the Governor’s pro-people and sports-friendly approach, expressing gratitude for his support towards players and youth initiatives.
