The international community has responded with alarm and condemnation following Israel’s large-scale military strikes on Iran, targeting what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed was the core of Iran’s nuclear enrichment program.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned any military escalation, expressing deep concern over the strikes on nuclear facilities while U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations remain ongoing. His spokesperson emphasized the need for restraint from both sides.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed severe retaliation, accusing Israel of targeting residential areas and violating Iranian sovereignty.

Global powers, including the UK, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Australia, echoed calls for de-escalation. The UK labeled the attacks a “dangerous moment,” while Saudi Arabia strongly condemned Israel’s actions as a violation of international law.

U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged he was aware of the strikes beforehand, reiterating that Iran must not possess nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, CENTCOM was placed on high alert in anticipation of potential retaliation.

Jordan and Oman warned against the use of their airspace and emphasized regional stability. China and New Zealand voiced grave concerns, prioritizing the safety of their citizens and advocating diplomatic resolutions.

As tensions rise, calls for diplomatic engagement are growing louder across the globe to avoid an all-out regional conflict.
