The Women’s T20 Asia Cup is set to commence today in Sri Lanka, bringing together the best women’s cricket teams from across Asia. The inaugural match will see UAE take on Nepal, followed by a highly anticipated clash between traditional rivals Pakistan and India.

The opening ceremony on Thursday included the unveiling of the tournament trophy, and the participating teams engaged in a spirited photo session, showcasing their enthusiasm for the competition. In addition, the players participated in a vibrant dance performance, adding a festive touch to the event.

The Pakistan national team, led by captain Nida Dar, has been diligently preparing for the tournament with rigorous practice sessions in Dambulla, focusing on refining their batting, bowling, and fielding skills. Dar expressed optimism about the upcoming match against India, highlighting the positive experience of playing against their rivals.

Indian team captain Harmanpreet Kaur also voiced excitement for the tournament, emphasizing the enjoyment of playing against Pakistan despite the lack of bilateral series. Kaur noted the aggressive style of the Indian team and expressed their intention to play high-quality cricket throughout the tournament.
