The United States has submitted a draft resolution to the United Nations Security Council, calling for the establishment of an International Security Force (ISF) in Gaza for at least two years.

According to Axios, the draft outlines the force’s mandate, structure, and operational powers. The ISF will be formed under the guidance of a “Gaza Board of Peace,” chaired by former U.S. President Donald Trump.

The proposed force will handle border security, protect civilians and aid routes, train Palestinian police, and oversee the demilitarization of Gaza. It will also have the authority to take “all necessary measures” under international law to fulfill its mandate.

Unlike traditional UN peacekeeping missions, the ISF is described as an enforcement force aimed at providing transitional security as Israel gradually withdraws and the Palestinian Authority reforms to assume governance.

The draft also suggests that Gaza’s civil administration be managed by a non-political technocratic committee, with humanitarian aid coordinated through the UN, Red Cross, and Red Crescent.

Analysts believe the move could reshape regional dynamics, while critics see it as a new bid to expand U.S. control under the guise of international security.
