US Open 2024, 144th Edition Kicks Off on August 26 in New York

The 144th edition of the US Open Tennis Tournament, the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year, is all set to commence on August 26 in New York City. This highly anticipated event will be played on hard courts, featuring some of the biggest names in the tennis world competing for the prestigious title.

In the men’s singles category, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic, who won the previous US Open, will be defending his title. On the women’s side, America’s world No. 2, Coco Gauff, will be looking to retain her singles title as well.

The tournament will also see thrilling matches in men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles categories. In the men’s doubles, the American-British duo of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury will defend their title, while in the women’s doubles, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and her New Zealand partner Erin Routliffe will compete to retain their crown. In the mixed doubles, Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina and her Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara will also be back to defend their title.

The champions of the men’s and women’s singles categories will each receive a prize of $3.6 million, while the doubles champions will take home $750,000. The mega event will conclude on September 8, with fans from around the world eagerly awaiting the thrilling finals.
