US Moves to Approve $6.4 Billion Arms Deal with Israel Amid Gaza Crisis

The Trump administration is pushing for Congressional approval of a $6.4 billion arms package to Israel, even as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens due to intensified Israeli military operations.

Sources revealed that the proposed deal includes 30 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters worth $3.8 billion, along with 3,250 infantry assault vehicles for $1.9 billion. An additional $750 million in spare parts and power systems is also under review.

The arms sale emerges at a critical moment — just days before the United Nations General Assembly convenes in New York and a high-level Security Council meeting on Gaza takes place. The decision is raising questions about Washington’s priorities in the face of rising civilian casualties and global condemnation of Israeli actions in Gaza.

While President Trump maintains unwavering support for Israel, a growing number of Democrats in Congress are voicing concerns. Over half of Senate Democrats have recently voted against further arms sales to Israel, and a Senate resolution has been introduced advocating for recognition of a Palestinian state.

The White House has yet to issue an official statement, but the move signals one of the largest US military aid packages to Israel in recent years — and comes at a time of intensifying global scrutiny.
