In a significant statement at the Munich Security Conference, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized that Pakistan has the potential to act as a bridge between China and the United States. In an interview with German media, Bilawal stated that the current geopolitical landscape requires a reduction of distances between nations, rather than fostering divisions.

Commenting on the growing rivalry between China and India, Bilawal highlighted the potential consequences of exacerbating this competition. He warned that bringing India into a direct competition with China would destabilize the delicate balance of power in the region. The PPP Chairman expressed his belief that while peace between Pakistan and India may not be immediate, trade and diplomatic engagement remain viable options for both nations.

Bilawal also reiterated the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a central project for Pakistan’s economic growth and regional connectivity. He emphasized that strong ties with the United States remain crucial for Pakistan, particularly in restoring dialogue and trade with India. He further remarked that both Pakistan and India face common challenges, such as poverty and unemployment, and that addressing these issues through dialogue and collaboration is key for long-term stability.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, echoed similar sentiments, stating that Pakistan could act as a vital economic bridge between China and the U.S. In a podcast hosted by the World Affairs Council of New Hampshire, Khan emphasized that peace and stability in the region should be the shared goal of Pakistan, the U.S., and other global powers. He also urged India to prioritize peaceful coexistence with its neighbors for the greater good of regional stability and economic growth.
