The United Kingdom has announced £1.33 million (approx. PKR 600 million) in humanitarian assistance for communities affected by recent monsoon floods in Pakistan. The aid will benefit over 223,000 people across seven districts in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott stated that the support includes food supplies, search and rescue operations, mobile medical camps, restoration of clean water systems, repair of irrigation channels, and agricultural assistance. So far, 2,400 local volunteers have been trained in rescue operations, while health camps are being set up in areas where clinics were damaged.

Additionally, affected families are being provided with tents, rations, household items, and dignity kits for women. The UN’s humanitarian office (UNOCHA), along with NGOs, is coordinating with the UK to ensure swift and effective distribution of aid. In Sindh, a disaster management program has also been launched with UK support, introducing online dashboards to monitor safe shelters, rescue equipment, and medical supplies at both district and provincial levels.
