UAE Announces Five, Year Visa for Pakistanis, A Step Toward Stronger Ties

In a significant diplomatic development, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a new five-year visa policy for Pakistani nationals, announced by UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi during his visit to Karachi.
The announcement was made at a meeting with Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor House, where UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi was also present. According to Ambassador Al Zaabi, all pending visa-related concerns have now been addressed, paving the way for smoother application processes and encouraging long-term travel between the two countries.
Governor Tessori expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s continued support and investment, particularly in Sindh and Karachi. He hailed the move as a promising step for regional growth and mutual cooperation.
Ambassador Al Zaabi also extended an invitation to the Governor to visit the newly established UAE visa centre in Karachi. He participated in a tree plantation drive and a flag-hoisting ceremony at the Governor House, further solidifying diplomatic goodwill.
As per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the five-year visa policy includes conditions such as submission of a return ticket, hotel reservation, proof of property if available, and a refundable security deposit of AED 3,000.
This announcement follows earlier reports clarifying that no official ban was ever imposed on Pakistani visa applicants, despite stricter scrutiny due to forged documents and misuse of social media by some individuals.
