Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill expressed regret over his role in a weekend traffic stop incident that saw him handcuffed and pulled from his car near the team’s stadium. The altercation, which was captured on police body cameras, has sparked renewed debate about police treatment of Black individuals. Hill admitted that he could have handled the situation differently, especially regarding the officers’ instructions to keep his window down. However, he criticized the officers for their excessive force, particularly one officer whom he believes should be dismissed from duty.

Hill described the scene as escalating quickly when he rolled up his window, and the officers’ aggressive behavior followed. One officer has since been placed on administrative duty, and an internal investigation is underway. Hill, while acknowledging his own actions, emphasized that the force used was unjustified.

In his remarks, Hill called for the officer’s removal, highlighting that the officer also disrespected his teammates who were present. “He’s gotta go, man,” Hill stated, expressing frustration over the officer’s conduct. The Miami Dolphins have expressed their desire for swift action regarding the officers involved.
