Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared his meeting with US President Donald Trump as a “milestone” in bilateral ties, saying Washington has promised investment in Pakistan’s IT, agriculture, energy, and minerals. Speaking to media in New Jersey, Shehbaz revealed that American companies have been urged to immediately invest, with mineral pricing to be determined fairly between the two nations.

He praised the Pakistan Army’s wisdom under Field Marshal Asim Munir, crediting them for averting conflict with India, and acknowledged the US role in brokering a ceasefire. The one-hour-and-20-minute Oval Office meeting with Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio also covered regional security, counter-terrorism, intelligence-sharing, and trade.

Shehbaz invited Trump to visit Pakistan, hailing his “bold and decisive” leadership that, according to him, spared South Asia from a major tragedy. Earlier, Shehbaz met UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to raise the Kashmir issue and urged climate support, while his informal meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang reaffirmed Pak-China cooperation.
