With only eight days left until the 2024 U.S. presidential election, the stakes are high as millions of Americans have already cast their ballots. In a critical appeal to religious voters, Donald Trump spoke at a National Faith Advisory Board event in Georgia, calling for faith-driven support and framing his campaign as a counter to “radical left” influences. Trump emphasized the role of religion in national values, asserting, “This is a country that needs religion.”

However, his rally faced controversy after a comedian’s remarks about Puerto Rico prompted backlash, leading Trump’s campaign to issue a statement distancing themselves from the comments. Kamala Harris, meanwhile, toured a semiconductor facility in Michigan, focusing on economic stability and pledging policies to reduce prices and improve housing access. Harris pointed to the Chips and Science Act, which she supported and Trump criticized, as proof of her commitment to strengthening manufacturing jobs and partnerships with private industries.

Georgia, a pivotal battleground state, has seen 2.8 million early voters, as both campaigns strive to sway key demographics. Trump cited his economic achievements pre-pandemic, while Harris argued her administration’s steady job market and record-high stock markets are indicators of positive progress, despite rising living costs.

Harris’s visit concluded with a rally featuring Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and singer Maggie Rogers, where Harris highlighted the importance of Election Day, urging voters to support a vision of growth over division.
