Taliban’s Strong Warning: Another Attempt to Reclaim Bagram Could Spark a New War

Afghanistan’s Taliban government has strongly rejected US demands to return Bagram Air Base. Defense Minister Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid declared that if America tries again, the Taliban are ready to fight for another 20 years.
This came after US President Donald Trump warned of “serious consequences” if Bagram is not handed back. Afghan officials reiterated that not even an inch of Afghan soil will be given to foreign forces.
Experts note that Bagram’s strategic importance lies in its proximity to China, Central Asia, and the Middle East. But any US insistence could ignite a new conflict in the region — much like the turbulence following the 2021 withdrawal of American troops.
