‘Stree 2’ Surpasses SRK’s ‘Pathaan,’ Now Second Highest-Grossing Hindi Film in India

Shraddha Kapoor’s horror-comedy sequel ‘Stree 2’ has achieved a significant milestone in the Indian film industry by surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller ‘Pathaan’ at the domestic box office. According to industry reports, ‘Stree 2’ has raked in a staggering INR 527 crore, overtaking ‘Pathaan,’ which earned INR 524.53 crore.
This achievement marks ‘Stree 2’ as the second highest-grossing Hindi film in India, trailing only behind Shah Rukh Khan’s latest blockbuster, ‘Jawan,’ which continues to hold the top spot with INR 582.31 crore in domestic earnings.
The film has enjoyed an impressive box office run, partly due to the lack of major competition, with Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated directorial debut ‘Emergency’ being delayed. However, the upcoming release of Hansal Mehta’s investigative thriller, ‘The Buckingham Murders,’ starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, may challenge ‘Stree 2’s’ dominance in the coming weeks.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, ‘Stree 2’ features Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee reprising their roles from the original. With special appearances by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia, the film has captured the audience’s attention and cemented its place in Bollywood history.
