Belgium delivered an impressive performance to defeat tournament co-hosts the United States 4-1 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16, securing a place in the quarter-finals.

Belgium dominated from the opening whistle, putting constant pressure on the American defence. Charles De Ketelaere scored twice, while Hans Vanaken and Romelu Lukaku added a goal each to seal a convincing victory. Malik Tillman scored the lone goal for the United States.

The hosts briefly managed to level the score during the match, but Belgium quickly regained the lead and added two more goals in the second half to comfortably book their place in the last eight.
