Shan Masood Urges Support for Players Ahead of Crucial England Test Series
Pakistan’s Test team captain, Shan Masood, has called for greater support for players as the team prepares for the upcoming Test series against England. Addressing the media in Karachi, Masood acknowledged the pressure on the team following consecutive defeats, particularly against Bangladesh, but stressed that backing players was essential for long-term success.
“We need to avoid making hasty changes and provide consistency to the team,” Masood said, highlighting the importance of giving players the confidence to perform. He admitted the loss to Bangladesh was disappointing, but took full responsibility for the team’s results, vowing to improve in the forthcoming series.
Masood also reflected on the recent Champions One Day Cup, noting the positive preparations made for the series. He mentioned the inclusion of Nouman Ali in the squad based on conditions, and expressed optimism about starting the series strongly despite uncertainties surrounding the playing conditions in Multan.
The captain acknowledged the unfortunate injury of key player Khurram Shahzad, saying decisions about his return would depend on his fitness. Concluding his remarks, Masood emphasized the importance of the series against England for Pakistan’s aspirations and reiterated the need for consistency in player selection.
