In a press conference following a long-awaited victory, Pakistan’s Test captain Shan Masood celebrated his team’s series win against England, marking an end to a six-match losing streak. He attributed the triumph to the players’ resilience and the collective effort of the entire squad, particularly highlighting the challenges of adapting to Pakistan’s pitch conditions.

Masood praised both the batting and bowling units, stressing the importance of taking 20 wickets in all conditions and supporting openers Saeem Ayub and Abdullah Shafiq. He urged critics to be constructive, emphasizing the team-centric nature of cricket. Reflecting on strategies, Masood explained that they adapted their pitch preparations to maximize performance, balancing fast bowling against Bangladesh with spin-friendly conditions at home. He also credited the selection committee for vital adjustments, including the reintroduction of spinners Sajid Khan and Noman Ali.

In contrast, England’s captain Ben Stokes expressed disappointment after consecutive losses, lamenting his team’s inability to maintain momentum after their initial win. Stokes noted the challenges of back-to-back games and acknowledged the need for England to regroup before their upcoming series with New Zealand. Despite the defeat, he praised Pakistan for their adaptability and competitive spirit.
