Shaheen Shah Afridi and Ansha Afridi Celebrate the Birth of Their First Child

Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and his wife, Ansha Afridi, have been blessed with their first child, a baby boy named Ali Yar. The Afridi family joyfully announced the news on social media, where the couple received an outpouring of congratulations from fans, fellow cricketers, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The arrival of baby Ali Yar has brought immense happiness to the Afridi family, and the cricket community at large has also joined in the celebration. Shaheen, who is currently engaged in a Test series against Bangladesh, is expected to take a short break to be with his family before rejoining the team.

Earlier in July, there were speculations that Shaheen might miss part of the Bangladesh Test series due to the anticipated birth. Pakistan’s red-ball coach, Jason Gillespie, had acknowledged the possibility, stating that Shaheen could be granted leave if needed. However, Shaheen is expected to rejoin his team before the second Test, scheduled to start on August 30.

The couple’s journey together began with their engagement in 2021, followed by a private nikah ceremony in February 2023. Their wedding festivities, including Ansha’s rukhsati, took place in September 2023, marking the beginning of their life together.
