SBP Issues Commemorative Coin for Baba Guru Nanak’s 555th Birth Anniversary

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released a special Rs55 coin to honor the 555th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. The initiative is a gesture of respect towards religious diversity and was issued under the directives of the federal government.
The 13.5-gram coin is crafted from copper, nickel, and bronze. On the obverse side, it features a crescent moon and a star, along with the inscription “Islamic Republic of Pakistan.” The reverse side showcases an image of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s monument with the text “555th Birthday Celebrations.” The years 1469-2024 are engraved at the base.
The SBP emphasized that Pakistan acknowledges and honors its diverse religious identities, underlining the country’s commitment to harmony and inclusivity.
