Saudi Arabia Dismisses Trump’s Claim, Stands Firm on Palestinian Cause

Saudi Arabia has firmly rejected recent statements by former US President Donald Trump, who claimed that the kingdom had dropped its demand for a Palestinian state as a precondition for normalizing ties with Israel.

In an official statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry reiterated that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s stance remains unchanged, emphasizing the kingdom’s unwavering support for Palestinian statehood and the right of Palestinians to their land. The statement underscored that Saudi Arabia strongly opposes any attempt to displace Palestinians and that its position is “non-negotiable.”

Trump’s controversial remarks came during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where he proposed that the United States should “take over” Gaza and redevelop it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” The proposal included clearing debris, removing unexploded ordnance, and launching large-scale economic investment to create jobs and housing in the war-torn enclave.

His statements sparked outrage among Palestinian leaders and human rights organizations, who denounced the idea as a blatant violation of Palestinian sovereignty.

Saudi Arabia’s strong response signals that, despite diplomatic shifts in the Middle East, its support for the Palestinian cause remains a core element of its foreign policy.
